Professional Development
Much of the value in an IABC membership stems from the professional development offerings – luncheons, seminars, workshops and networking evnets that allow you to hone existing skills, explore new ones and bolster your knowledge through thoughtful interactions with fellow communication professionals.
IABC Colorado has a strong tradition of presenting solid professional development programs addressing a spectrum of communication issues. Usually once a month, we gather at the University of Denver, a restaurant or a conference room to hear insights into topics ranging from internal communications to external communications, and from measurement to new media.
In addition, the Chapter provides a local link to IABC International’s accreditation program, and a host of other learning opportunities.
Professional Development Program
There’s no escaping the fact that these are challenging times. The economic downturn continues to affect the purchasing decisions of consumers and companies across the world, and the pace of change in the market is increasing daily. Organizations are frantically trying to adapt their once successful business models to survive in this complex environment; as a result, how we operate and do business is changing.
As professional communicators, we have an opportunity to further prove our value to the business, but we can only do so if we start thinking about the role that we play. How do we reach beyond what we’ve done and evolve our role so that we become an even more integral part of doing business? How do we build a communication strategy that facilitates employee engagement, the uptake of change and positions leaders to lead? From an external perspective, how do we build a communication strategy that takes advantage of new channels and continues to build a strong presence in the marketplace? And, how do we do this with a reduced budget, limited resources, and increased focus on results? Join us for our professional develpment offerings to learn how to answer many of these questions.
All of our professional development lunch and learn events are held at the University of Denver in University Hall. Our workshop and networking event offerings are moved around the metro area to accommodate all of our members.
