| Changes to the 2012-2013 IABC Colorado Board of Directors AnnouncedIABC Colorado’s is pleased to announce new changes to the Board of Directors for the remaining of the July 2012 – June 2013 board year. The board is comprised of six volunteer communications professionals from various industries and disciplines.
As of January 1, 2013, the following board positions have changed:
--Sherry Boyd assumed the role of President.
--Julie Ludwig, ABC became Past President
--Sarah Thornton joined the board as Vice President of Professional Development, a spot vacated by Steve Kaus following a job move.

| IABC Launches Redesigned Gold Quill Awards The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has launched the 2013 Gold Quill Awards with a number of enhancements that will make it easier for communication professionals to enter the program. IABC’s annual Gold Quill Awards represent best practices in business communication across a variety of disciplines. Each year, more than 1,000 communication professionals from around the world submit entries to be considered for the awards.

| IABC Southern Region Announces 2012-2013 Board of Directors The IABC Southern Region announced the 2012-2013 Board of Directors. The new board will serve from July 1, 2012 through to June 30, 2013. The US Southern Region serves 28 IABC chapters across 4 countries and 14 US states.
The team consists of the following elected individuals:
Chair – Cloreth Greene, ABC (Jamaica)
Past Chair – Elena Mappus (Atlanta)
Vice Chair – Dianne Chase (North Carolina)
Secretary – Julie Ludwig, ABC (Colorado)
Treasurer – Paul Ladd (Nashville)

| Kerby Meyers Begins Term as 2012–2013 IABC International Executive Board ChairSAN FRANCISCO, CA – 10 July 2012 – Former IABC Colorado Chapter President Kerby Meyers has officially begun his term as chair of IABC’s International Executive Board (IEB). Kerby will serve as chair of the IEB from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
Having consulted IABC’s strategic plan and considered the marketplace challenges, Meyers said that he believes that IABC needs to take a comprehensive look at its business during his time as the organization's chair.
“With a number of initiatives focused on IABC's content and career offerings underway, it only makes sense to ensure that the organization's underpinnings are examined and the international executive board confirms that IABC is delivering value to its members,” he said.

| Chris Sorek Joins IABC as Executive DirectorSAN FRANCISCO, CA – 5 June 2012 – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has appointed Christopher Sorek as executive director. Sorek has more than 30 years of experience in communication, public affairs and community relations. He comes to IABC from The Drinkaware Trust based in the U.K., where he was CEO. Chris will officially take on his new role with IABC on 2 July 2012.
